"An Introduction to my projects" Yngve Zakarias, filmmaker
I was raised in Trondheim in the studios of my parents: my father the sculptor and my mother the ceramist.
I received dedicated drawing lessons from age 8, modeling lessons a bit earlier. At 16 I moved out, and at 20 I quit the local Art College.
I left Trondheim, and for the next 5 years I lived for the art in several cities in Europe and Norway. I had a number of exhibitions, before settling in Berlin (West) 1984.
After the wall came down, I founded and led the association running an artist studio house in Berlin between 1993 and 2000.
The short MATERIAL (15min) premiered 2013 in Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, Germany, in distribution by the Norwegian Film Institute. Sections of the project had been around since 2005 with shows in art museums and galleries.
