Introduction
I have worked for many years with woodprints the traditional way.
2004 I discovered that the year-ring patterns of an ordinary plywood sheet could be used as a map. The lines may serve as exact height information.
It is well known that the patterns in wood may trigger mental images of landscapes and more.
I combined this fact with technology from the geosciences.
To start with, I found a large sheet of plywood with fine detail and many knots. After a lengthy technical process slowly the landscape emerged. The images looked at the same time natural and alien, like from another planet.
